I've unveiled my first public display of (physical) art. I have to be honest... I'm shy about sharing the rest. First, I won't blame it on the recipe itself. There were a handful of factors that went into making this experiment a disaster. I figured I would mention this on my 'fleeting ambitions' blog because I have wanted to make this dish for a long time. I wouldn't say the actual gnocchi was awful--a little gummy and weird but not terrible. Still, the lesson here is that store bought gnochhi is A-OK and outweighs making them by hand any day. The sauce, though, was what really made it awful.. I followed the instructions near perfectly but I guess I had questionable peaches to begin with, a sweeter champagne than assumed, blah blah.. Eventually it turned into this weird, white, sour and alcoholic-y sauce which I then turned into an impromptu alfredo sauce (with mozzerella, parmesean, and black pepper).
